Recently, a friend posted an article about the Rife Method. I had never heard of this, so I did some research. My background is science-based, so I will be getting a little science geeky, please bear with me. In the early 1930’s, Dr. Royal Raymond Rife, PhD was one of many doctors who did work in discovering the Cancer viruses he called Bacillus X and Bacillus Y. These viruses were the primary cause of carcinoma and sarcoma. Dr. Rife was also one of the first to discover that chemicals can also cause cancer. He, along with Dr. Milbank Johnson, MD used a machine, created by Dr. Rife, that issued frequencies associated only to those two cancers. The purpose of this “Rife Machine” was to use a frequency that disrupts the cancer’s ability to grow and spread. They were able to help some patients, but some returned for more “therapy” when cancer returned.
Now, the “Rife Machine” was created to work with two types of cancer. It is more difficult, according to the website, to treat someone who may have both or whose cancer is caused by other means. Dr. Rife used a “high frequency RF frequencies through the use of a Low Q circuit which produced high RF harmonic sideband frequencies. These high RF sideband frequencies were created by using a high RF carrier frequency modulated with low audio frequencies. The low audio frequencies were not the treatment frequencies but they created the high RF (RF = Radio Frequency) sideband treatment frequencies from the high RF carrier frequency. If the low audio frequencies which produced the sideband frequencies were off more than several Hertz or frequencies the sideband method would not work. “(See references below) The two doctors later went on to find the frequencies for other viruses. This work required very precise ranges in order to work.
Enter Philip Hoyland. He used a 3.30 MHz fixed radio frequency harmonic frequency with different audio frequencies. They had to be used in combination as they did not work by themselves. Later, Mr. Hoyland changed the RF. “Because Dr. Rife, John Crane and John Marsh did not understand Philip Hoyland's sideband method they did not realize that the higher audio frequencies needed to be re-calculated to work with the new 4.68 Megahertz carrier frequency, therefore the new 1950's instrument didn’t work correctly. For some unknown reason that we do not understand they decided to lower the higher audio frequencies by a factor of 10 times. They then changed the sine wave waveform of these lower audio frequencies to the square wave waveform. The lowering of these frequencies made it so that the new lower audio frequencies would never work properly to create the sideband method developed by Philip Hoyland. By lowering the audio frequencies this made it so they were only using the square wave audio frequency harmonics to treat the various organisms. This change from high audio frequencies to even lower audio frequencies made it so the high RF frequency sideband method was no longer used. Because of these mistakes people have also been using these lower square wave audio frequencies for many years believing that they were Dr. Rife’s true frequencies. Today almost all the manufacturers of the many so called "Rife Machines" only use these lower audio frequencies. This is due to the fact that they do not know how the original instrument worked. Because they do not know how the original machines worked they are still giving these low audio frequencies to their customers not understanding they are not Dr. Rife's true frequencies…” This is according to the website listed in Resources. They also go on to explain why Mr. Hoyland changed the Hz. “The frequencies that Dr. Rife found for the various microorganisms were also considered un-patentable because they naturally occur in nature. The FCC actually has imminent domain over all frequencies in the U.S. and only licenses there use. Because there was no patent protection Philip Hoyland found a way to hide Dr. Rife's true frequencies using audio frequencies to create the proper high RF frequencies, using sidebands. Because Philip Hoyland used this high RF frequency sideband method to hide Dr. Rife's true frequencies, never revealing it to Dr. Rife or anyone else, is the reason why people have wrongly believed that these higher low audio frequencies were Dr. Rife's true primary frequencies that would eliminate the diseases.” They go on to say that this is why most machines today don’t work.
Dr. Andrew Weil has the following to say about the Rife machine: “Rife’s invention got some medical attention in the 1930s, but its efficacy remained unproved. It probably would have disappeared by now if it hadn’t been for a 1987 book called The Cancer Cure that Worked!: Fifty Years of Suppression. The book’s authors claim that in 1934 Rife demonstrated his machine’s ability to cure cancer but that “all reports describing the cure were censored by the head of the AMA from the major medical journals.” A 1994 review by the American Cancer Society of the Rife machine noted that once the cancer-causing microbes were identified by the Rife machine, it would purportedly generate radio frequencies of exactly the same vibratory rates as the bacteria and, according to Rife, “shatter” them. The truth is that radio waves cannot destroy bacteria.”(Resources) He also goes on to mention an article written in 2007 for the Seattle Times about a couple who offered and ran a bogus treatment center. Dr. Weil’s final words on the machine and cancer curing are as follows: “When dealing with cancer, first determine what conventional therapies have to offer. Then try to find an oncologist who is open to an integrative approach…” (Resources)
I believe in making use of as many modalities as possible when dealing with disease. We might all be human beings but we are also individuals. My body chemistry and energy make up will not be the same as yours, therefore, what works for me may not work for you in the same way. This is why I like having allopathic medicine, homeopathy, flower essences, Reiki and herbs available to work on my own health regimen. The authors of the 2008 paper entitled “Unproven medical devices and cancer therapy: big claims but no evidence” say that those who practice these alternative methods of therapy are “advocates of the irrational, magical or pseudo-scientific belief systems…” As a practitioner of at least three of these alternative methods, I do believe. Additionally, more science, which these authors say don’t exist, has been done. What any healing regimen comes down to is this: do your homework. A difficult task when you aren’t well, so have a trusted friend or family member there to support you. Once you have found the plan you wish to follow, make sure the people you see are well-established (medical or alternative) and know their jobs. Second opinions are always available to you. Your health really is in your hands. Finally, would I use the Rife method? Probably not, but I use plant energetics and their energies adapt to what the individual needs; they don’t need a machine for that. Be well.
